![]() Valves are intended to be one-way - only letting air out and keeping it from re-entering the bag. No matter how you suck the air out of a space saver bag, it must come out of the bag’s valve. Double-sealed bags are generally higher in quality than bags with a single seal. Some bags feature a single seal across the top others offer two layers of protection in case one of the seals fails. Most manufacturers affix a plastic slider that glides across the lock to ensure it’s completely closed. Overstuffing a space saver bag is one of the easiest ways to break it.Īll space saver bags come with a seal - a thick strip across the top where the opposite sides lock together to keep air out. When in doubt, go bigger - unless you are specifically trying to fit things into a suitcase. Think carefully about the items you are going to store. ![]() Some are large enough to hold an entire duvet cover others are designed to fit in a carry-on suitcase. Space saver bags come in a variety of sizes. They are intended primarily for short-term storage or travel. They’re not as efficient as vacuum or pump bags, but they’re even more gentle on your fabric items and are a decent choice if you’re traveling and concerned about losing your pump. You roll these bags up just like an almost-empty tube of toothpaste - pushing the air out of the one-way valve. Compression bags are used specifically for packing clothing. They are better for short-term storage, but, in some cases, can be used longer. Hand-pump bags are not as practical for storing larger items, like bedding, but they are good for packing items like sweaters, coats, and other bulky goods. And since the pump is small, it’s easily packed for use at your destination. However, they are gentler on your clothing. As usual a quick search of Amazon provided plenty of options but these stood out to me.They have the word Jumbo in the description and they have a money back guarantee. These really do fit the Jumbo description. I did a bit of searching the local big name shops but found the selection available to be both mediocre and bloody expensive. Sealed bags should prevent damp and thus save me money in Spring. This has led to some expense as it would appear my partner no longer wants to wear clothes that may at some time have been damp even though a god wash tends to make them as fresh as a daisy. So this year I has a great idea. However the past couple of years, the summer collection has been retrieved from it's forced hibernation in the garage only to come out smelling of damp. Normally this is done using those chequed Jumbo sized bags that your grandmother always seems to have loads of. The bag contained 6x Vacuum Bags 1x Hand Pump. It's hat time of year where my partner decides that her wardrobe space needs to be full of only her Winter clothes so the Summer Collection needs to go into the garage to make way for the furry warm stuff. This Storage bags arrived well packaged in a plastic bag. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2017 A great way to store things free of mold and damp.
